Have you been asked to provide classroom consultation but don't know where to start? In this 2.5-hour workshop, BCBAs will learn to use functional assessments to inform classroom-wide behavioral support practices (i.e., interventions). BCBAs will also learn how to use objective and valid data collection processes to measure the efficacy of classroom-based interventions. The presenter will contextualize these evidence-based practices within an overview of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and examples of systematic interventions utilized at each support tier.


Workshop attendees will be able to:

  • Inform the selection of classroom-wide practices with functional assessment

  • Measure the efficacy of classroom practices with objective and valid measurement systems

  • Begin to plan systemic intervention projects


Workshop attendees will enjoy workshop information through multimedia and will have ample opportunities to speak with other behavior analysts, analyze sample data, and create products that may guide future practice Audience: Audience members should have some experience working in general and special education classrooms.

Sacha Shaw

Dr. Shaw has been providing training and consultation to public schools for over ten years. She works closely with school administrators and staff to disseminate evidence-based practices, data-based decision-making and the ethics surrounding ABA service provision. Sacha owns a consulting company that operates out of southern Maine. In addition, Sacha is an adjunct faculty within Endicott College’s masters programs in Applied Behavior Analysis, where she recently won the Excellence In Teaching Award. She also researches the effects of specific teaching practices on student performance in higher education settings.
